I've seen a few posts that recommended someone do a pouch test.

Can you tell me what that is, how you do it and why it's recommended?

Thanks
Debbie

First of all you can look it up on the web, second, it's for those people who have lost their way, not made at all for those who have had surgery a year or less.  It's just a way to get yourself back on the road.  When you are new, your have a small pouch which over time can stretch out again.  This is just a diet sort of to help those people out that need to jump start to regain control. Sort of like what newbies do right after surgery with all liquids at first.

Hey Deb..how goes it?

What you've heard mentioned is the '5 day pouch test'...a web site that helps WLS people get back to basics regarding their eating habits.  It basically has you go thru the 5 stages of introducing food back into your system at a controlled rate....very much like how you started out the day after surgery.

It is recommended for those who are at maintenance usually...but have lost the discipline of eating 'properly'...started 'grazing' or snacking...eating too many carbs, etc.  It helps them start 'over'...at the beginning of the food journey.

I don't think it is what you want to consider at this point; you are still pretty early out...just getting into stage 4 foods?  Keep doing what your doc's protocol calls for....the weight will continue to come off....this is a life style change..not an over nite cure...and at 57lbs gone...you are doing Fantastic!
